Delta/Clearwater Dart League . . . Rules, Scoring and Fouls I. General Rules: 1. All players must throw from behind the front side of the foul line. Players may lean over the line, but must stand with their feet behind the front edge of the foul line.2. Each player has a maximum of 3 darts to be thrown each turn. 3. Any dart thrown counts as a throw, whether or not it is registered on the machine. A throw counts if it hits the board and bounces out, or if it misses the board completely. A player may not throw any dart over again. 4. Darts must be thrown only when the machine instructs to *throw darts* and proper player number is lit. 5. A player may not touch the board or the darts on the board until the *player change* button has been activated. 6. Each player may *warm up* with 6 darts before each game. II. Scoring 301 Singles and 501 Doubles: 1. The dart machine automatically scores darts thrown. A dart does not have to stick in the board for it to score. 2. The score registered by the machine will be the score the player will recieve. The machines score is accepted as always being correct. 3. A thrown dart that does not register a score (example - a dart thrown before ;throw darts; is lit) will not recieve a score. 4. When playing in teams, the game is complete when any player reaches zero (0). III. Scoring Cricket (teams): 1. The object of the game is to close all numbers that are kit - 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and bullseye, and have a score greater than the opponents. 2. All General Rules apply to Cricket also. IV. Fouls: 1. Distracting behavior by opponents while a player is throwing. 2. The player shooting may not leave the throw area after darts have been thrown, until the *player change* light has been activated. 3. If either foot crosses the throw line prior to the dart hitting the board or the machine recording the throw. 4. Intentional stalling or delay of a shot or a match. 5. It is each players responsibility to see that the machine is displaying the appropriate player number prior to throwing the darts. If the player throws while the machine is displaying an opponents number, this constitutes a foul. The score stands and the player looses that dart. V. Dart Specifications: 1. Darts must have plastic tips. 2. Flights may be any length as long as the dart does not exceed 8 in. in total length. Flights may be no wider than 3/4 in. as measured from shaft to flight edge, and may not have more than 4 wings. 3. Complete dart may not exceed 16 grams in weight. Any player caught using darts heavier than 16 grams will result in his/her entire team loosing all points for matches played before the discovery of the illegal darts. 4. Darts may not have broken or cut off tips. These amended Rules of Play were adopted for use by the DCDL Governing Board on the _____ of September 2001.
